Scarborough Seafest 2014 Programme

This weekend welcomes Scarborough's 16th Annual Seafest. The Maritime Festival features events for the whole family including live music, cooking demonstrations and children’s workshops and entertainment - all free!

This great event is organised by Scarborough Borough Council in partnership with Welcome to Yorkshire and The Great Yorkshire Brewery and is a must see for both residents & visitors alike.

Seafest Food Theatre Programme


One of the star attractions of Seafest is the Seafood Theatre which hosts two days of free fish and seafood cookery demonstrations by leading Yorkshire chefs live from the Seafest Food Theatre.

Saturday 26 July


10:30 - Martyn Hyde
Eat Me Café, Scarborough. Voted One of Northern Rail’s Hidden Gems, Morrison’s Best Café, winner of Yorkshire Life awards ‘Neighbourhood Restaurant of the Year’, and the only café in Scarborough to make it into the Good Food Guide
Classic English with local ingredients, a sprinkling of Asian spices, and a side serving of smiles

11:30 - Tom Rennolds
BBC MasterChef Finalist
The heat in The Food Theatre won’t be quite as high as in the MasterChef kitchen! Fine English Cuisine. Fine Local Ingredients. Fit for a Seafest Feast!

12:30 - Phil Leverington
The Demo Chef for Maldon Sea Salt Flakes
Phil will be creating an array of delicious seafood dishes with Maldon sea salt’s finest flakes and locally caught seafood

13:30 - Rob Green
Green’s Restaurant, Whitby. Multi award winner and National Seafood Chef of the Year
A Master of the art of all things fish, showing us how to prepare and cook the freshest ‘catch of the day’, using sustainable fish from the quayside

14:30 - Vicky Scott
Deputy Head Chef, Crown Spa Hotel, Scarborough
Former winner of the Apprentice of the Year at Yorkshire Coast College. Vicky has been at The Crown Spa for the last 13 years, and involved in all food areas, but her forte is the pastry section where she specialises in creating mouth-watering offerings

Our young chefs of tomorrow, Students Ali Moran and Aaron Pattison, cook their demonstration dishes from the UK Young Seafood Competition, joined by Rob Clark, Curriculum Leader
