Music Take-Over Event 'Oxjam' Comes to Scarborough

A unique event, billed as an amazing 'multi-venue' extravaganza, is set to literally takeover the Scarborough music scene for an entire day.

Showcasing local talent 'Oxjam' is an ambitious plan that will see a host bands and musicians play a multitude venues across the town for a full day.

Oxjam Scarborough is part of a national music takeover taking place on Saturday 11th October aimed at raising much needed funds for Oxfam.

The event has been organised by a team of local volunteers who are passionate about the local music scene and who promise that the day will offer something for everyone.

The festival kicks-off at 11am at Scarborough Library with Beach Hut Theatre’s production of "Walk The Breadline" a spoken word, theatrical piece which has been created exclusively for Oxjam.

For under 18’s there will be a youth event hosted at The Street starting at 2pm with local band Organized K-Hos headlining with further acts to be announced.

The afternoon entertainment continues at Mojo’s Music Café before by an acoustic evening at The Spa Pub with featuring Tom Townsend, Ben Parcell, Jesse Hutchinson and Adam Chodan.

The night climaxes with a rock night at Vivaz nightclub staring local acts Organized K-Hos, Dead White Dove, The Demimondaines and many more still to be announced.
