Scarborough Book Festival 'Books By The Beach' is back this year for a second time, following its successful launch in 2014.

This year the festival will run from Wednesday April 15 to Sunday April 19 and will see crime writers form a strong part of the programme.

Organisers Heather French and Peter Guttridge have revealed an exciting line-up for 2015 including Peter James, who will be discussing stage versions of his Roy Grace novels and psychological thriller writer Sophie Hannah, who will host a Poirot Dinner at the Town Hall

The event will also see S J Watson discussing Second Life, his follow-up to worldwide bestseller Before I Go To Sleep with novelist Louise Doughty and former MP Ann Widdecombe will be discussing her debut crime novel, Dancing Detective.

One of the coups of the festival is an event with Helen Boaden,  Programming Director of BBC Radio, which will focus on radio and storytelling.

Books By The Beach will also be remembering the anniversaries of two major events in British history – the signing of Magna Carta by King John in 1215 and the Battle of Waterloo in 1815.

The majority the festival will take place in Scarborough Library concert hall, with the Town Hall, the prison and the Spa Theatre also hosting events.

More events are set to be confirmed soon and tickets will be on sale in a few weeks. For more details visit the festival website at www.booksbythebeach.co.uk or find them on Facebook and Twitter.
