Tour de Yorkshire: Stage One Road Closures, Transport & Parking in Scarborough
As the Tour de Yorkshire rolls into Scarborough tomorrow it is anticipated that roads in and around the town will be significantly busier than normal.
To help you with your travel plans we've compiled a list of all road closures, transport & parking information for tomorrows event.
Please do allow additional time for your journey and be mindful that you may be impacted by the rolling road closures detailed below.
Road closures in Scarborough
There will be rolling road closures in place before, during and immediately after the race has passed and these are expected to last for around one hour. Some areas along the route and at the start and finish of the stages will have longer closures.
The details below show the estimated times of road clousures - subject to the speed of the peloton.
Thursday 30th April
- Royal Albert Drive between Peasholm Gap and Albert Road 8am to 11.59pm
Friday 1st May
- B1364 North Marine Road 3pm to 5pm
- B1364 Castle Road 3pm to 5pm
- Aberdeen Walk 3pm to 5pm
- Vernon Road 3pm to 5pm
- Valley Road (Vernon Road to Spa Roundabout) 3pm to 5pm
- Foreshore Road Southbound lane Noon to 5pm
- Foreshore Road Northbound Lane 8am to 6pm
- Sandside Noon to 5pm
- Marine Drive 5am to 9pm
- Albert Road 5am to 9pm
- Royal Albert Drive between Albert Road and Marine Drive 5am to 9pm
- Royal Albert Drive between Peasholm Gap and Albert Road 00.01am to 9pm
Safety for both riders and spectators is essential so please don't park on the route. Parking suspensions will be in place across the length of the race route to ensure the race can pass safely.
Park & Ride Services
Park and ride services in Scarborough will be available, but between 3pm and 5pm on 1 May there are likely to be delays to the service due to the road closures on the race route in Scarborough town centre. Where possible it is recommend that you arrive at the park and ride sites early.

Car Parking
In addition to the normal park and ride sites on the A64 and A165, most town centre car parks will be open throughout the day. There will also be a park and ride service in operation from Weaponess car park.
Due to road closures associated with the deployment of race infrastructure no parking will be permitted on Marine Drive or Royal Albert Drive.
Due to rolling road closures on the race route between 3pm and 5pm access to some town centre car parks may be restricted. Please arrive early and allow additional time for your journey.
Please remember not to park on the race route and to park sensibly.
