Scarborough Team Launch New 'Pop-Up' Live Music Venture

'Chapter 3' pop up venue

Local events management team Sant' Angelo Resources launch their latest offering to live music lovers in Scarborough towards the end of this month, with their new venture 'Chapter 3' pop up venue.

Teaming up with Quid's Inn, one of Scarborough's largest and most lively nightspots, and with sponsorship from Molson Coors, Chapter 3 will launch on 28th May and promises to bring a range of live music to Scarborough and the wider region.

Speaking on behalf of the team, Mike Lynskey said:
"Over the years the local music scene, which was once vast and varied, declined. Although recently there has been an upsurge of venue owners working really hard to offer a range of live entertainment, it’s a tough job to run a bar and a decent gig at the same time."
The aim of Chapter 3 is to be a movable venue that can work in a multitude of settings across the Yorkshire region. Landlords can work with the team who will do all the organising for them, supplying all the kit and booking the acts. It can cost a venue or a band a lot of money to own top quality PA and lighting system, which also needs storing somewhere.

Having booked and produced live shows for acts such as McFly, Katherine Jenkins, Status Quo and Dionne Warwick, the team are well placed to link intimate venues to acts of all levels. Chapter 3 promises to highlight new talent, as well as bringing in bigger names to create larger scale events and generate income for the local pub and club scene.

The first place to play host to Chapter 3 is Quid’s Inn on St. Nicholas Street on 28th May, with a very special launch party, where the team hope to showcase the concept of the pop up venue and give stage to two local bands.

Taking a supporting role, The Subterranean Gentlemen (Sub-Gents) are a powerful trio that emit a unique blend of futuristic surf guitar, tribal rhythms and hypnotic bass lines. Playing intimate club events and larger festivals, the Sub-Gents have been compared to a swath of bands from PIL, Killing Joke and The Wipers, to Dick Dale, Shellac and The Ramones.

Headlining the launch night will be a band tipped for success by the likes of Ivor Novello winner Steve Robson and the NME. Maven Fiction are an Indie-pop collective whose release 'This is my England' was driven by them growing up in Scarborough. They’ve been in the studio, taken under Steve Robson’s wing for some months and are ready to burst onto the live scene with their lyrically based, infectious synth-pop sound.

Tickets on the door cost only £1 per person, but live music fans can bypass the cost by getting themselves on the guest list. To do this, go to the Facebook page at, make sure you 'like' the page, then leave a comment to say you want to be on the guest list.
