Discover Music From Around The Globe With ‘Holidays Abroad’, Part Of The Spa Orchestra’s Gala Night Series

Spa Orchestra - Grand Hall

Travel the world from the comfort of your seat in The Scarborough Spa Grand Hall on Thursday 11th June at 7.45pm as the Spa Orchestra presents an evening of light music illustrating towns, cities and countries from all around the globe.

Starting in the UK with the rousing Plymouth Hoe overture, the music will take us from such varied places as the Black Forest in Germany to the islands of the South Pacific with the songs from Rodgers and Hammerstein’s famous film and stage musical.

Russ Conway's China Tea and Kenny Ball's Midnight in Moscow will represent more exotic destinations as we travel east, whilst Canadian Capers, Cuban Holiday and a toe-tapping dance band version of Chicago will take us west to North America and the Caribbean.

En route, there will be stops in Vienna, Paris, Norway and Naples.  And all these places and more will be seen as well as heard, with pictures on the big screen on stage above the Orchestra.

This special gala concert marks the end of the Spa Orchestra's first week of summer residence at the Spa.

Thursday 4th June sees the Grand Opening Concert of the season, and Sunday morning’s concert of light and lively easy listening music in the Sun Court will be free admission, as will all Sunday mornings throughout the summer.

Tickets for 'Scarborough Spa Orchestra: Holidays Abroad' are priced at £11, with children going free with a paying adult. Tickets are available from The Spa’s Box Office (01723) 821888 and via www.scarboroughspa.co.uk
