Free summer shows for all the family return to Scarborough Open Air Theatre later this month and they're all set to be the biggest and best yet.

Organised by the renowned theatrical entertainment company, Tony Peers Productions, 'Festival of Fun', will feature the best of Scarborough's entertainers and will take to the stage on Tuesday and Thursday each week from 28 July until 27 August.

Entertainment will start with a Punch and Judy Show at 12.45pm, followed by face painting and a grand parade of cast and characters at 1.30pm. The activity on stage will run from 2pm until 4pm.

Hosting the Tuesday shows will be the madcap duo Double Trouble with Thursdays once again hosted by Scarborough's own Magic Mike. Both shows will feature the very best of local talent from Hatton School of Performing Arts, Pauline Quirk Academy, YMCA productions, Twilight Productions, Rowlies Academy and a guest appearance by the cast of the Scarborough Spa summer show, as well as individual performances from Tyler Jack

Smith and Darcie DeFreitas. Popping up all over the theatre will be the Mississippi Dixieland Band led by the legendary Frankie 'Mr Entertainment' Dean.

There will be two special guest appearances during the summer from Street Beat Dance Academy, the current UK Street Dance Champions and qualifiers of the World and European Championships. The Rollason Stage School, from Hunstanton in Norfolk will perform in the show on 20 August.

An addition to the shows on 28 July, 6 August and 20 August, will be a performance from the UK's number one Jessie J tribute act, Just Jessie. On 4 August and 27 August, Channel 4 Big Brother legend, Nikki Grahame will appear at the theatre to meet and greet all Big Brother fans - a great opportunity for a 'selfie'.

As well as the 'Festival of Fun' shows, the theatre will host free bouts of American wrestling on 31 July, 5 August, 12 August, 19 August and 26 August. 'Good guys' will compete with 'baddies' to entertain the audiences from 1pm.
