Appeal For Information Following Assault of 68 Year Old Woman in Scarborough


North Yorkshire Police is appealing for witnesses and information about an assault in Scarborough on Sunday 2 August.

It happened on Scalby Road between 3.10pm and 3.20pm when a male cyclist punched a 68 year woman who had got out of the car she was a front seat passenger in, forcing her to fall to the ground knocking her unconscious.

The man is described as white, of athletic build, wearing white and blue cycling shorts and top and black helmet. He was riding a black bike with distinctive white walls to the tyres.

Officers are conducting enquires and are requesting the public's assistance to help identify the offender. Police also wish to identify the members of public who came to assistance of the injured woman.

Anyone with information which could assist in identifying the male offender should contact North Yorkshire Police on 101, select option 2 and ask for PC1394 Vandenborn.
