Man Arrested on Suspicion of Drink Driving After Trying to Inflate Tyres With Vacuum Cleaner
A man has been charged with drink driving in Scarborough after being spotted trying to inflate his car tyres with a vacuum cleaner.Police were called to a petrol station forecourt in Scarborough on Sunday 9 August after witnesses became concerned about a young motorist's behaviour.
After failing to inflate his tyres with the car vac, he then turned his attention to the water line and tried that instead.
The 21 year old man, who has not been identified, was found to be almost twice the legal limit and without insurance. He is due to appear before magistrates later this month.
North Yorkshire Police Roads Policing Group reported the incident on Twitter saying:
