Incredible Weekend For Motorcycle Fans

Goldwing Light Parade 2015

This September Scarborough will host an incredible weekend for motorcycle fans with the end of season Gold Cup road race event at Oliver’s Mount and the ever popular GoldWing Light Parade.

The Gold Cup event at Oliver’s Mount will attract thousands of motorcycle road race fans who will be watching their hero’s race around the 2.5 mile circuit which overlooks Scarborough.

As an added bonus, for both riders and spectators, the Cock O’ the North race is also being run on the Saturday after being postponed from the July meeting.

Then on Saturday evening locals and holidaymakers alike will flock to the sea front to see the spectacular GoldWing Light Parade in aid of Scarborough RNLI.

GoldWings fans will be able to get up close to the touring motorcycles throughout the day, as they park-up at Scarborough Lifeboat Station from 10.00am until 4.00pm on Saturday.

Later that evening, at 8.00pm, the GoldWings will then parade along Scarborough’s North and South Bays promenades to the delight of thousands of spectators who now turn up especially to see this brilliantly illuminated spectacle.

As if the GoldWings aren't enough of a spectacle, there will also be a grand finale fireworks display on the South Bay Beach from 9:30pm.

On Sunday, the 65th annual Gold Cup motorcycle road races continue at Oliver’s Mount for a second day of racing.

  1. One of the joys of owning a motorcycle is the freedom it gives you to explore the country. There are lots of great places for bikers to see and events for them to attend, so there is no excuse for leaving your machine in the garage at the weekend.
