Local Musicians Offered Chance to Perform at February Arts Festival

Hope and Social

Local musicians are being urged to tune up and turn up to join ‘A Band Anyone Can Join’ as part of February’s Coastival arts event in Scarborough.

Hope and Social are a band from Leeds. Famed for their unique approach to making art, known as Yorkshire’s hardest working band, and very much at wild frontier of the New Music Industries, Hope and Social are to hold a unique concert, staged at the Spa Grand Hall on Sunday 14th February from 2.30pm.

The show will feature musicians and musical groups from along the beautiful Yorkshire coastline, to perform a large-scale production at Scarborough’s illustrious Spa venue.

Now organisers are looking for local musicians who are ready to start rehearsing in January. Coastival’s organisers, Scarborough-based arts development agency Create, say A Band Anyone Can Join is a rare opportunity to be a part of something special.

Last year Hope & Social performed with 1200 new band members in 12 gigs across Yorkshire as part of their Tour of Infinite Possibility, a lead project of the Yorkshire Festival. They finished that with 200 of their new band members performing at the opening ceremony of The Tour de France at Leeds Arena in front of a live TV audience of 300 million people. Hope and Social specialise in involving their fans and audiences in the music they play and have a Pay What You Want philosophy for anyone downloading their music.
