Dublin Grunge-Pop Thrillseekers Orthekin Play Quids Inn
Dublin grunge-pop thrillseekers Orthekin are stopping off at Quids Inn in Scarborough on Thursday 19 November as part of their UK tour.
Their debut single ‘Ay Ay’ was warmly welcomed, enjoying lots of spins from Annie Mac on BBC Radio 1, as well as being playlisted at XFM. The band also popped their UK festival cherry this year to appreciative crowds at Leeds / Reading.
Orthekin are currently touring to promote the release of ‘The 201 – EP’ - a quartet of quivering bangers sure to light a fire in even the most jaded soul. The EP, Released on Friday 13 November, corrals ‘AY AY’ into the bruising company of new radio track ‘Feel It’, plus two more brand new songs ‘20 To 11’ and ‘Love’s A Liability’.
Mike Lynskey from Sant’Angelo Events who are promoting the show said:
"We are so pleased that Otherkin have chosen to stop off in Scarborough at our weekly ‘Chapter 3’ event. We’ve been running the ‘pop-up venue’ at Quids Inn for the last 5 months promoting original live music from around the region. It’s great to see our name on the same tour poster as legendary venues such as the Camden Barfly, Night and Day in Manchester and King Tuts in Glasgow."
Also on the bill are Grolar Bear from Rosedale - combining all the best bits of The Kings of Leon, Kasabian and The Babyshambles and bringing it to the table with their own twist. Dirty Riffs combined with a crisp back beat make Grolar Bear an unstoppable live act.
This is a definite must see show of fresh, original, high octane live music; something Chapter 3 and Quids Inn are really developing a great reputation for.
