Florence and The Uffizi Gallery at The Stephen Joseph Theatre
Take a journey into the city that was the cradle of the Italian Renaissance, through the most beautiful and representative works of art from the period by Michelangelo, Brunelleschi, Raphael, Leonardo and Botticelli.
The Uffizi Gallery – including the breathtaking Adoration Of The Magi by Leonardo Da Vinci, which will be brought back to life after several years of restoration – will be unveiled in a worldwide exclusive premiere on the big screen.
Florence and the Uffizi Gallery, showing at the Stephen Joseph Theatre, Scarborough on 14 December, will be an immersive and unique experience, allowing cinema audiences to see, hear and savour the most outstanding and celebrated breeding ground of creativity in the history of art.
Arturo Galansino, curator of the Royal Academy in London and newly appointed director of the Strozzi Foundation in Florence, and Antonio Natali, director of the Uffizi, will welcome us inside the gallery, and will detail the key works using the most advanced 3D and ultra-HD technologies.
The “secret story” of each of the timeless works of art in the gallery will be disclosed in all its beauty. A fascinating, Gothic flavoured interlude will display much darker, more monstrous and frightening paintings, such as those by Caravaggio.
Florence and the Uffizi Gallery is brought exclusively to cinemas in a new Discover Arts season, giving cinema audiences full access to some of the world's most captivating galleries.
This special screening can be seen at the Stephen Joseph Theatre on Monday 14 December at 7.45pm. Tickets, priced at £17, are available online at www.sjt.uk.com and from the box office on 01723 370541.
