New Honorary Freemen and Aldermen for the Borough of Scarborough
Seven people have been awarded special honours by Scarborough Borough Council.
The title of Honorary Freeman of the Borough of Scarborough was conferred on Samuel Greetham and Jim Ward as a token of the high esteem in which they are held by the townspeople of the borough and in recognition of their eminent services to the community.
The title of Honorary Alderman of the Borough of Scarborough was conferred on former borough councillors Dorothy Clegg, Jane Kenyon-Miller, Peter Popple, Herbert Tindall and Brian Watson in recognition of the eminent services they rendered to the council.
The titles were awarded at a special Full Council meeting on Friday 23 October at the Town Hall in Scarborough.
