Organisations Love to be Beside the Seaside at Scarborough Campus Conference Centre
Scarborough Campus Conference Centre announces a hat-trick of recent business wins – bringing a major, year-round boost to the local economy.
Management at the Filey Road site are seeing a greater return on investment year on year, with organisations from across the UK enjoying its unique seaside facilities.
The latest business wins have seen the centre providing conference facilities for the University of Leeds, Yorkshire Water and Flying Futures – a Community Interest Company delivering the National Citizen Service programme.
A renewed focus has been placed on promoting the cutting-edge facilities of the on-campus conference centre, combined with the picturesque and historic setting to the small and medium-sized conference market.
The centre offers a competitive price package, along with accessible spaces, residential accommodation on campus, sports and recreation facilities, as well as the latest technology and multi-media conferencing equipment.
The site also offers the innovative option of hybrid conferences, enabling e-delegates to join the event from anywhere in the world, seeing the same presentations and able to interact with both speakers and other delegates.
Plans for further investment in the centre are also helping to drive new and repeat conference business.
Tina Steele, Finance & Business Manager at the campus, says the future is looking bright.
Highlights so far this year have included the annual conference of The Historically Informed Summer School, which attracted hundreds of delegates from across the UK, she said.
The picturesque campus on the outskirts of the town centre is also hosting meetings for government organisations and other public bodies as it looks to continue its growth across all sectors.
"We’re certainly seeing a growth in bookings and a greater return on investment year-on-year. That’s because we offer flexibility and an intimate setting for gatherings and conferences."
"Our academic facilities make us much more than a just a conference centre. We’re seeing organisations book meetings with us that include the use of our laboratories, so they can give delegates hands-on experience."
"Our location near the fabulous coastline and the beautiful North Yorkshire moors also makes us an ideal location for field trips – which is another growing source of revenue for us."
"he revised packages and prices that we’re offering, coupled with a new and improved catering service we have introduced, is offering people even more value for money."
"We are delighted that this, in turn, is driving more and more new and repeat business for us."
"As our list of new clients reveals, we have organisations from all sectors holding conferences and meetings here – from the academic world to government organisations and blue chip corporates."
The centre offers delegates an experience they’re unlikely to get at many more traditional conference locations. This includes the use of a state-of-the-art 3G sports pitch, theatre-style performance studios as well as fully-equipped science laboratories.
It is the latest chapter in the history of the Scarborough campus site, which has been used for educational purposes since 1909 and remains an important part of the town’s economy, culture and heritage.
