Cheaper Energy Tariffs for Local Residents
Choices4Energy is once again supporting a scheme to help residents get a better deal on gas and electricity bills.
The local energy saving advice service, which covers the Scarborough borough and Ryedale district areas, is working with iChoosr, the UK’s leading expert in collective energy switching, to deliver market leading tariffs. Collective purchasing power is used to try and secure better deals for everyone. The aim of the scheme is to make it easy and simple for residents to consider switching energy providers.
How does the scheme work?
In the latest round, households can register for the scheme for free until Tuesday 2 February. Registration is easy, all residents will need is a recent energy bill or annual statement, ideally based on actual meter readings, so that Choices4Energy can work out how much energy a household uses and who the current provider is.
After registration closes, iChoosr will gather everyone’s registrations together and invite energy companies to offer their best prices for energy to everyone in the scheme. After Monday 15 February those that registered will then receive a personalised offer on the new tariff secured by the scheme, which will show how much money could potentially be saved if the offer is accepted. The householder decides whether to accept the offer or not.
There is no obligation to accept and there are no fees or charges.
The scheme does not guarantee a saving as it depends on a household’s current energy use and the price currently paid for energy. It may be that a house is already on the best value tariff.
