4 Year Old Scarborough Girl To Donate Her Hair to The Little Princess Trust
Local 4 year old Josie Owen is having her beautiful long hair chopped off so that she can donate it to the Little Princess Trust. The Little Princess Trust provides real hair wigs to boys and girls across the UK and Ireland that have sadly lost their own hair through cancer treatment.
Josie got the idea after seeing her mum donate her hair to the charity last year. Initially Josie's mum and dad, Nadine and Nick Owen, discouraged their daughter due to her young age, but feisty Josie was undeterred and eventually convinced her parents to let her lose her long locks.
Speaking to Scarborough UK, Louise Mansfield, who is Josie's auntie and the manager of The Falcon Inn and Falcon Forest Glamping in Cloughton, said:
"Josie is very feisty and has known her own mind from a very young age. She asked if she could donate her hair after seeing her mum Nadine do the same last year, but Nadine and my brother Nick weren't sure at first.
"Josie kept on asking and eventually they decided to let her do it as it was only going to benefit a very good charity to help poorly children.
"She is an inspiration to us all and we would like to ask people to kindly show their support and to sponsor Josie and help make a difference."
