Free Screening of 'X-Men: Days of Future Past' For Students at SJT
A one-off screening of a special edition of Marvel superhero movie X-Men: Days of Future Past at the SJT aims to introduce local students to the cinema within the theatre – for free.
The alternate cut X-Men: Days of Future Past - The Rogue Cut, which has not been seen in cinemas, takes you deeper into the X-Men universe than ever before. Rogue makes her return as the all-star characters from the original X-Men film trilogy join forces with their younger selves and unite to battle armies of murderous Sentinel robots who are hunting down mutants and humans alike.
The Rogue Cut runs at 2 hours and 30 minutes, more than 20 minutes longer than the original version.
And anyone who shows a valid NUS or college union card to the theatre’s box office can claim a free ticket for the film, screening at 7.45pm on Friday 5 February. Tickets can also be bought at the standard price of £7.
Box Office Manager Alex Briggs says:
“This is a really exciting time for education in Scarborough, and there are a lot of students out there who are new to the town and don’t know what it has to offer. We’d like to introduce them to the Stephen Joseph Theatre and, within it, the McCarthy cinema, with this one-off free event.”
X-Men: Days of Future Past was released in 2014. Directed by Bryan Singer, it is the seventh instalment of the X-Men film series, and stars Hugh Jackman, James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Jennifer Lawrence, Halle Berry, Nicholas Hoult, Ian McKellen and Patrick Stewart.
