Local Women Plan 200 Mile Trek From Edinburgh Castle to Scarborough Castle
Three local women will be doing their bit for Sport Relief this May by walking 200 miles, from Edinburgh Castle to Scarborough Castle.Alexene Nellist, Ashleigh Nellist and Kim Shepherd walked 192 miles, coast to coast, from St Bees in Cumbria to Robin Hoods Bay in 2014. Their journey took 13 days, during which they camped every night in all weathers.
In total Alexene, Ashleigh and Kim rasied over £2,000 for Sport Relief and as a thank you for their efforts they were invited to a reception at Downing Street hosted by Samantha Cameron.
This year the three walkers have decided to push themselves even further with plans to walk the 200 miles between Edinburgh Castle to Scarborough Castle in just 9 days.
The intrepid adventures will be setting off on Monday 16th May 2016 and are aiming to arrive back in Scarborough on Tuesday 24th May 2016.
