Local Models to Strut Their Stuff at Scarborough's Spring/Summer Fashion Show
Ten local ‘models’ have won a competition to showcase this season’s hottest trends on the catwalk at the Brunswick Shopping Centre’s Fashion Show. The 10 local models will appear in six shows this Saturday (23rd April) from 10am-4.30pm, covering a different theme every time having been styled by staff from the Centre’s stores.
One of the lucky winners is Doreen Morfitt, aged 50, from Scarborough, who actually works as a cleaner at the Centre during the day.
Victoria Mitchell, centre manager for the Brunswick Shopping Centre, said:
“Our Spring/Summer Fashion Show looks set to be our best yet with 10 local models covering all age ranges set to take to the catwalk.
“Our models will be wearing the latest fashion and jewellery from our high street names including: Debenhams, Next, TopShop, Topman, Dorothy Perkins, Bonmarche, Yours, Roman, New Look and Select.
“What makes the show really special is that fact that it’s local people modeling on the catwalk so our shoppers can see the latest trends on offer and what they look like. Their transformation throughout the day is fantastic as they are nervous at first and then by the later shows are literally dancing down the catwalk.”
The Spring/Summer Fashion Show is at the Brunswick Shopping Centre, Saturday 23rd April. There will be six shows throughout the day starting at 10.30, 11.30, 12.30, 1.30. 2.30 & 3.30. Paddy from Yorkshire Coast Radio is hosting the day.
